अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः

Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan

श्रीरुवाच प्रकीर्ण भाजनं यत्र भिन्नभाण्डमथासनम्‌ । योषितश्वैव हन्यते कश्मलोपहते गृहे

śrīr uvāca—prakīrṇa-bhājanaṃ yatra bhinna-bhāṇḍam atha āsanam | yoṣitaś caiva hanyate kaśmalopahate gṛhe ||

ศรี (พระลักษมี) ตรัสว่า “เรือนใดที่ภาชนะกระจัดกระจาย เครื่องใช้แตกหัก แม้ที่นั่งก็ฉีกขาด และที่ซึ่งสตรีถูกทำร้ายและถูกด่าว่า—เรือนนั้นย่อมมัวหมองด้วยบาป จากเรือนที่มัวหมองเช่นนั้น ในกาลเทศกาลและวันพิธีศักดิ์สิทธิ์ เทพและบรรพชนย่อมหันกลับไปด้วยความผิดหวัง มิรับการบูชาที่ถวาย ณ ที่นั้น”

Educational Q&A

A household’s moral and physical order reflects its dharma: disorder, neglect, and especially violence against women create sinful impurity, making the home inauspicious and unfit for receiving divine and ancestral blessings.

Bhīṣma reports Śrī (Lakṣmī) speaking about the marks of a fallen household—broken and scattered domestic items and the mistreatment of women—and explains that in such a home, even worship during festivals fails to please the gods and the ancestors.
