Conduct of the Virtuous Wife

इति वेदोक्तमृषिभि: पुरस्तात्‌ परिकल्पितम्‌ | इदानीं चैव न: कृत्यं पुरस्ताच्च परिश्रुतम्‌

iti vedoktam ṛṣibhiḥ purastāt parikalpitam | idānīṃ caiva naḥ kṛtyaṃ purastāc ca pariśrutam ||

“ดังนี้แล ตามวาจาแห่งพระเวท บรรดาฤๅษีในกาลก่อนได้วางหลักไว้แล้ว เราเองก็ได้ยินสืบมาช้านาน และบัดนี้ด้วย เรามีหน้าที่ต้องปฏิบัติตามบัญญัติแห่งพระเวทนี้”
