Adhyāya 122 — Śruta-vṛtta-yukta Brāhmaṇa and the Ethics of Dāna
Maitreya–Vyāsa Saṃvāda
कीट उवाच इदं तदतुलं स्थानमीप्सितं दशभिर्गुणै: । यदहं प्राप्य कीटत्वमागतो राजपुत्रताम्
kīṭa uvāca idaṃ tad atulaṃ sthānam īpsitaṃ daśabhir guṇaiḥ | yad ahaṃ prāpya kīṭatvam āgato rājaputratām ||
หนอน (ผู้ได้เกิดเป็นกษัตริย์) กล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นเจ้า วันนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้บรรลุสถานะอันหาที่เปรียบมิได้ ซึ่งข้าพเจ้าปรารถนาจะได้แม้ต้องผ่านถึงสิบชาติ แม้เพราะความผิดของตนข้าพเจ้าจะตกต่ำถึงภาวะหนอน แต่ด้วยพระกรุณาของท่าน บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้ากลับได้เป็นราชกุมาร”
