Kīṭopākhyāna: Prajā-pālana as Kṣatra-vrata and the Attainment of Brāhmaṇya

अनिष्ट सर्वभूतानां मरणं नाम भारत । मृत्युकाले हि भूतानां सद्यो जायति वेपथु:,भरतनन्दन! किसी भी प्राणीको मृत्यु अभीष्ट नहीं है; क्योंकि मृत्युकालमें सभी प्राणियोंका शरीर तुरंत काँप उठता है

aniṣṭaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ maraṇaṃ nāma bhārata | mṛtyukāle hi bhūtānāṃ sadyo jāyati vepathuḥ ||

ภีษมะกล่าวว่า “โอ ภารตะ ความตายเป็นสิ่งไม่พึงปรารถนาสำหรับสรรพสัตว์ทั้งปวง เพราะในยามมรณกาล ร่างกายของสัตว์ทั้งหลายย่อมบังเกิดอาการสั่นสะท้านขึ้นโดยฉับพลัน”
