इस जगतमें प्रज्ञान ही शरीर-शुद्धिका विशेष साधन है। इसी प्रकार अकिंचनता और मनकी प्रसन्नता भी शरीरको शुद्ध करनेवाले हैं

bhīṣma uvāca — asmin jagati prajñā eva śarīra-śuddheḥ viśeṣa-sādhanam. tathā akiñcanatā ca manasaḥ prasannatā ca śarīraṃ śodhayataḥ.

ในโลกนี้ ปรีชาญาณอันรู้ชัดเป็นเครื่องชำระกายอันประเสริฐยิ่ง; ฉันนั้นแล ความไร้ทรัพย์ไร้ยึดถือ (อากิญจนะ) และความผ่องใสของใจก็เป็นเหตุให้กายบริสุทธิ์
