मार्गशीर्ष तु यो मासमेकभक्तेन संक्षिपेत्‌

mārgaśīrṣa tu yo māsam ekabhaktena saṁkṣipet

อังคิรสกล่าวว่า “ผู้ใดดำรงตนตลอดเดือนมารคศีรษะด้วยการฉันเพียงวันละมื้อ ผู้นั้นย่อมประพฤติวัตรแห่งความสำรวม วัตรนี้กล่าวไว้ว่าเป็นบุญ เพราะฝึกการข่มตนและเกื้อหนุนการดำรงชีวิตตามธรรม”
