ब्रह्मस्वहरण-निषेधः — Prohibition of Appropriating Brahmin Property

तस्माद्धरेन्न विप्रस्व॑ं कदाचिदपि किंचन । ब्रह्मस्वं रजसा ध्वस्तं भुक्त्वा मां पश्य यादृशम्‌,ये चैनं क्रीणते तात ये च विक्रीणते जना: । ते तु वैवस्वतं प्राप्य रौरवं यान्ति सर्वश: तात! जो लोग सोमरसको खरीदते हैं और जो लोग उसे बेचते हैं, वे सभी यमलोकमें जाकर रौरव नरकमें पड़ते हैं

tasmād dharen na viprasvaṁ kadācid api kiṁcana | brahmasvaṁ rajasā dhvastaṁ bhuktvā māṁ paśya yādṛśam | ye cainaṁ krīṇate tāta ye ca vikrīṇate janāḥ | te tu vaivasvataṁ prāpya rauravaṁ yānti sarvaśaḥ ||

เพราะฉะนั้น อย่าได้ลักเอาทรัพย์ของพราหมณ์แม้เพียงน้อยนิดไม่ว่าเมื่อใด ครั้นข้าบริโภคทรัพย์พราหมณ์อันถูกธุลีแห่งกิเลส (รชัส) ทำให้มัวหมอง จงดูเถิดว่าข้าเป็นเช่นไร และแน่ะลูกเอ๋ย ผู้ใดซื้อโสมและผู้ใดขายโสม—ทั้งหมดนั้นเมื่อไปถึงไววัสวตะ (ยม) แล้ว ย่อมตกสู่นรกเรารวะโดยทั่วกัน
