Paurava-vaṃśa-kathana (Account of the Paurava Lineage) |

bhayaṁ tu te vyetu viṣāda-mohau tyajāśu caivendra-samapra-bhāva | tvāṁ vartamānaṁ hi satāṁ sakāśe nālaṁ prasoḍhuṁ balahāpi śakraḥ ||

Educational Q&A

Fear is to be dispelled by abandoning despair (viṣāda) and delusion (moha), especially when one is supported by the presence and guidance of the virtuous; moral company strengthens inner steadiness and courage.

Aṭka addresses a powerful person, urging him to give up fear and mental confusion. He emphasizes that the person is presently among the righteous, and praises his extraordinary radiance by saying that even Indra—famed as the slayer of Bala—cannot bear it.
