Educational Q&A

The verse highlights āśrama-dharma: a guest should be received with courtesy, yet important matters are properly concluded in the presence of the elder/guardian. Respect, patience, and correct social conduct are emphasized.

Śakuntalā addresses an arriving visitor, explaining that her father has stepped out from the hermitage to gather fruits and requesting the visitor to wait briefly so he may meet her father upon his return.
