Śakuntalā-Janma-Nāmakaraṇa (Birth and Naming of Śakuntalā) | शकुन्तला-जन्म-नामकरणम्
ऑर्वस्यासीत् पुत्रशतं जमदग्निपुरोगमम् | तेषां पुत्रसहस्राणि बभूवुर्भुवि विस्तर:,और्व मुनिके जमदग्नि आदि सौ पुत्र थे। फिर उनके भी सहसौं पुत्र हुए। इस प्रकार इस पृथ्वीपर भृगुवंशका विस्तार हुआ
Aurvasyāsīt putraśataṁ Jamadagnipurogamam | teṣāṁ putrasahasrāṇi babhūvur bhuvi vistaraḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—ฤๅษีเอารวะมีบุตรหนึ่งร้อยคน โดยมีชามทัคนีเป็นผู้เด่นที่สุด จากบุตรเหล่านั้นได้มีลูกหลานนับพันกำเนิดขึ้น และด้วยเหตุนี้วงศ์ภฤคุจึงแผ่ขยายไปทั่วแผ่นดิน
