Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the extraordinary efficacy of a warrior acting with rightful purpose and superior guidance: Arjuna’s prowess is framed alongside Kṛṣṇa’s charioteership, suggesting that human valor, when aligned with higher counsel and dharma, becomes decisive even against overwhelming odds.

King Janamejaya asks how Arjuna, with Kṛṣṇa driving his chariot, could alone shower arrows and cause vast enemy forces to fall—i.e., to reach pitṛloka, the realm of the departed—seeking an explanation of this seemingly impossible feat.
