भृगुवंश-प्रस्तावना तथा पुलोमा–अग्नि-संवादः

तां तु प्रादात् पिता पश्चाद् भृगवे शास्त्रवत्तदा । तस्य तत् किल्बिषं नित्यं हृदि वर्तति भार्गव,किंतु पीछे उसके पिताने शास्त्रविधिके अनुसार महर्षि भूगुके साथ उसका विवाह कर दिया। भृगुनन्दन! उसके पिताका वह अपराध राक्षसके हृदयमें सदा काँटे-सा कसकता रहता था
tāṃ tu prādāt pitā paścād bhṛgave śāstravattadā | tasya tat kilbiṣaṃ nityaṃ hṛdi vartati bhārgava ||
แต่ภายหลัง บิดาของนางได้ยกนางให้แก่ภฤคุ ตามบทบัญญัติแห่งศาสตรา โอ วงศ์ภฤคุ! ความผิดนั้นฝังอยู่ในใจเขาเสมอ ราวกับหนามทิ่มแทงไม่รู้คลาย
