Jaratkāru’s Marital Compact and Departure (जरत्कारु–जरत्कारुणी संवादः)
त॑ दग्ध्वा स नगं॑ नाग: काश्यपं पुनरब्रवीत् । कुरु यत्नं द्विजश्रेष्ठ जीवयैनं वनस्पतिम्,इस प्रकार उस वृक्षको जलाकर नागराज पुन: काश्यपसे बोला--'द्विजश्रेष्ठ] अब तुम यत्न करो और इस वृक्षको जिला दो”
taṁ dagdhvā sa nagaṁ nāgaḥ kāśyapaṁ punar abravīt | kuru yatnaṁ dvijaśreṣṭha jīvayainaṁ vanaspatim ||
เมื่อเผาต้นไม้นั้นเสียแล้ว ราชนาคก็กล่าวกับกาศยปะอีกว่า “โอ ทวิชผู้ประเสริฐ! บัดนี้จงเพียรพยายาม ชุบต้นไม้นี้ให้กลับมีชีวิตเถิด”
