शेष उवाच
The verse highlights tapas (austerity) and niyama over the senses as the basis of true wisdom and spiritual stature; ethical authority is grounded in self-restraint rather than birth or power.
Śeṣa foretells the future appearance of the sage Jaratkāru in the yāyāvara (wandering ascetic) lineage, describing his character as wise, renowned, and disciplined—setting up his later role in the unfolding story.
