जनयामास पुत्रौ द्वावरुणं गरुडं तथा । विकलाड्रो5रुणस्तत्र भास्करस्य पुर:सर:,उसने दो पुत्र उत्पन्न किये--अरुण और गरुड। जिनके अंग कुछ अधूरे रह गये थे, वे अरुण कहलाते हैं, वे ही सूर्यदेवके सारथि बनकर उनके आगे-आगे चलते हैं
janayāmāsa putrau dvāvaruṇaṃ garuḍaṃ tathā | vikalāḍ 'ruṇas tatra bhāskarasya puraḥ-saraḥ ||
นางให้กำเนิดบุตรสององค์—อรุณและครุฑ ในชาตินั้นอรุณมีอวัยวะไม่สมบูรณ์ และเขาได้เป็นผู้นำหน้าแห่งภาสกร (พระอาทิตย์) ทำหน้าที่เป็นสารถีผู้ไปก่อน
शौनक उवाच
The verse highlights that dharma is fulfilled through one’s appointed function: even an incomplete or disadvantaged condition can become meaningful when aligned with rightful service—Aruṇa’s deficiency does not negate his role; it becomes part of a divinely ordered duty as the Sun’s charioteer and forerunner.
Śaunaka narrates the birth of two sons—Aruṇa and Garuḍa. Aruṇa is born with incomplete limbs and is thereafter established as the one who goes before the Sun, serving as the Sun-god’s charioteer/forerunner.
