ततस्तं ज्वलितं दृष्टवा ज्वलनं ते विहंगमा: । जरितारिस्ततो वाक्यं श्रावयामास पावकम्‌,तब उस जलती हुई आगको देखकर वे पक्षी आपसमें वार्तालाप करने लगे। उनमेंसे जरितारिने अग्निदेवको यह बात सुनायी

tatas taṃ jvalitaṃ dṛṣṭvā jvalanaṃ te vihaṅgamāḥ | jaritāris tato vākyaṃ śrāvayāmāsa pāvakam ||

ครั้นเห็นเพลิงที่ลุกโชนอยู่ นกทั้งหลายก็เริ่มปรึกษากัน แล้วจริตารีในหมู่พวกเขาก็กล่าวถ้อยคำนั้นให้ปาวกะ (พระอัคนี) ได้ยิน
