Educational Q&A

Jaritā models prudent reassurance: she reads an immediate sign of reduced threat (the mouse removed by the hawk) and calms her children, illustrating how elders interpret events to guide dependents toward steadiness rather than panic.

In the burrow where Jaritā and her young are situated, a mouse emerges and is instantly snatched away by a hawk. Jaritā concludes that this particular burrow is, for the moment, free from that source of danger and tells her children not to fear.
