Adhyāya 196: Droṇa’s Conciliatory Counsel and Karṇa’s Suspicion of Counsel (मन्त्र-नय-विवादः)

स्वर्गश्री: पाण्डवार्थ तु समुत्पन्ना महामखे । सेह तप्त्वा तपो घोर दुहितृत्वं तवागता,यह स्वर्गलोककी लक्ष्मी है, जो पाण्डवोंके लिये तुम्हारे महायज्ञमें प्रकट हुई है। इसने अत्यन्त घोर तपस्या करके इस जन्ममें तुम्हारी पुत्री होनेका सौभाग्य प्राप्त किया है

svargaśrīḥ pāṇḍavārthaṃ tu samutpannā mahāmakhe | seh tapttvā tapo ghoraṃ duhitṛtvaṃ tavāgatā ||

นางผู้นี้คือสวรรค์ศรี—ความรุ่งเรืองแห่งสวรรค์—ผู้ปรากฏขึ้นในมหายัญของท่านเพื่อประโยชน์แก่ปาณฑพทั้งหลาย นางได้บำเพ็ญตบะอันแสนสาหัส จึงได้บรรลุโชคอันประเสริฐในชาตินี้ คือการได้เป็นธิดาของท่าน
