तस्मात्‌ त्वमपि भद्ठं ते न लोकान्‌ हन्तुमरहसि । पराशर परॉल्लोकान्‌ जानउज्ञानवतां वर,ज्ञानियोंमें श्रेष्ठ पराशर! तुम्हारा कल्याण हो, तुम परलोकको भलीभाँति जानते हो; अतः तुम्हें भी समस्त लोकोंका विनाश नहीं करना चाहिये स तत्राद्यापि रक्षांसि वृक्षानश्मन एव च | भक्षयन्‌ दृश्यते वह्निः सदा पर्वणि पर्वणि वह अग्नि आज भी वहाँ सदा प्रत्येक पर्वके अवसरपर राक्षसों, वृक्षों और पत्थरोंको जलाती हुई देखी जाती है

tasmāt tvam api bhadraṁ te na lokān hantum arhasi | parāśara paral lokān jānāsi jñānavatāṁ vara || sa tatrādyāpi rakṣāṁsi vṛkṣān aśmāna eva ca | bhakṣayan dṛśyate vahniḥ sadā parvaṇi parvaṇi ||

เพราะฉะนั้น ขอความสวัสดีจงมีแก่ท่าน—ท่านเองก็ไม่ควรมุ่งทำลายโลกทั้งหลาย โอ้ ปราศร ผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่นักปราชญ์ ท่านรู้ความจริงแห่งปรโลกอยู่แล้ว จึงไม่สมควรให้ท่านนำความพินาศมาสู่สรรพชีวิต เพราะแม้บัดนี้ ณ ที่นั้นเอง ไฟนั้นยังปรากฏซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าในกาลแห่งแต่ละฤดูกาล เผาผลาญรากษส ต้นไม้ และแม้กระทั่งศิลา
