अर्जुनस्य लक्ष्यवेधः

Arjuna’s Hitting of the Target at the Svayaṃvara

निखातं यच्च वै वित्तं केनचिद्‌ भृगुवेश्मनि । वैरायैव तदा न्यस्तं क्षत्रियान्‌ कोपयिष्णुभि:,किसी भृगुवंशीने अपने घरमें जो धन गाड़ दिया था, वह भी वैर बढ़ानेके लिये ही किया गया था। हम चाहते थे कि क्षत्रियलोग हमारे ऊपर कुपित हो जायेँ

nikhātaṃ yac ca vai vittaṃ kenacid bhṛguveśmani | vairāyaiva tadā nyastaṃ kṣatriyān kopayiṣṇubhiḥ ||

และทรัพย์ที่ผู้หนึ่งฝังไว้ในเรือนของชาวภฤคุ ก็ในกาลนั้นถูกวางไว้เพื่อก่อให้เกิดความพยาบาทเท่านั้น—โดยผู้ที่มุ่งจะยั่วยุให้เหล่ากษัตริยะพิโรธ
