वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical polarity between predatory, adharma-driven aggression (the man-eater’s intent to kill) and the necessity of courageous resistance to protect life; it frames violence here as an imminent threat that must be met to uphold safety and order.
A cannibal rākṣasa, roaring terribly, raises both hands and charges straight at Bhīmasena with the clear intention of killing him.
