द्रोण उदाच शीघ्र भवन्त: सर्वेडपि धनूंष्यादाय सर्वश: । भासमेतं समुद्दिश्य तिष्ठ ध्वं संधितेषव:,द्रोण बोले--तुम सब लोग इस गीधको बींधनेके लिये शीघ्र ही धनुष लेकर उसपर बाण चढ़ाकर खड़े हो जाओ

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Droṇa uvāca—śīghraṁ bhavantaḥ sarve ’pi dhanūṁṣy ādāya sarvaśaḥ | bhāsam etaṁ samuddiśya tiṣṭhadhvaṁ sandhiteṣavaḥ ||

โทรณะประกาศว่า “เร็วเข้า—พวกเจ้าทุกคนจงหยิบคันธนูขึ้นมา ยืนเตรียมพร้อมด้วยลูกศรพาดสาย เล็งไปยังแร้งตัวนั้น”
