As a colophon, the line primarily marks textual closure rather than giving a direct moral injunction; indirectly, by naming the episode of Pāṇḍu’s funeral fire, it situates the narrative within themes of mortality, duty toward the dead, and the transition of responsibility to the next generation.
This is the chapter-ending colophon stating that the chapter concludes within the Ādi Parva’s Sambhava section, specifically in the episode dealing with Pāṇḍu’s burning/cremation (funeral rites).
