वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharmic conduct: when encountering realized sages, one should show humility and respect (abhivādana) and approach them properly, often under the guidance of a qualified priest/teacher, indicating recognition of spiritual authority and disciplined social behavior.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the Kauravas, upon seeing a gathering of great sages, bow in salutation and then sit near them, accompanied by their purohita, preparing to listen, consult, or receive instruction in a formal and respectful setting.
