This line functions as a colophon, emphasizing the Mahābhārata’s structured transmission: events are preserved and organized by parva and adhyāya, and the Pāṇḍavas’ origin is treated as a foundational theme for later ethical and political developments.
The narrator’s voice marks the close of a chapter in the Sambhava Parva dealing with the Pāṇḍavas’ birth/origin; it is a formal end-of-chapter statement rather than a new narrative event.
