This line functions as a colophon: it emphasizes orderly transmission of scripture-like narrative, where major political acts (such as digvijaya) are framed within dharma and recorded with formal chapter closures, reminding the listener that power and expansion are part of a larger moral-historical arc.
The narrator, Vaiśampāyana, announces that a chapter has ended—specifically, the 112th chapter within the Sambhava section of the Ādi Parva—identified as dealing with the Pāṇḍavas’ digvijaya (campaign of conquest/establishment of sovereignty).
