Educational Q&A

Sacred storytelling is presented as ethically purposeful: narratives should be rooted in dharma (right conduct) and artha (rightful worldly aims), and such accounts—whether Purāṇic lore or historical traditions of kings and seers—are understood to purify and instruct the listener.

The speaker offers the audience a choice of what to hear: either holy Purāṇic-style narratives grounded in dharma and artha, or the revered historical accounts (itihāsa/vṛtta) concerning kings and great sages.
