Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how personal weakness and attachment—especially parental favoritism—can become a form of moral blindness, leading one to tolerate injustice and to share in another’s delusion rather than restrain it.

The speaker confesses that, being blind and emotionally bound to his sons, he has long endured wrongful acts; and whenever Duryodhana becomes distressed through delusion, the speaker’s mind follows him into the same sorrow and confusion.
