FAQs

It highlights Shiva’s function as Pati—the sovereign protector whose terrible (ugra/ghora) power destroys opposition to dharma, assuring the devotee that refuge in the Linga leads from fear (bhaya) to safety.

Shiva-tattva is shown as both dynamic and awe-inspiring: the Lord’s power can manifest as “mahāghora,” a protective, opposition-crushing force that loosens pasha (bondage) by removing hostile impediments to the pashu’s path.

The takeaway aligns with Pāśupata orientation: cultivate fearlessness and steadiness through surrender (śaraṇāgati) to Pashupati—externally via Linga-pūjā and internally via focused, unwavering awareness amid conflict.
