वीरभद्रो ऽपि भगवान् वीरशक्तिविजृम्भितः स्वयं विज्ञापयामास किमत्र स्मृतिकारणम्
vīrabhadro 'pi bhagavān vīraśaktivijṛmbhitaḥ svayaṃ vijñāpayāmāsa kimatra smṛtikāraṇam
แม้พระวีรภัทร ผู้เป็นภควาน ผู้รุ่งโรจน์ด้วยวีรศักติ ก็ทรงไต่ถามด้วยพระองค์เองว่า “ในเรื่องนี้ เหตุแห่งการบังเกิดสมฤติคืออะไร?”

It frames a key Shaiva principle: true remembrance of Śiva (and the Linga as His sign) arises from a specific cause—ultimately Śiva’s anugraha working through Śakti—rather than from mere human effort.
By highlighting Śakti’s heroic expansion in Vīrabhadra and the arising of smṛti, the verse implies Śiva as Pati: the supreme consciousness who, through His Śakti, empowers cognition and restores right remembrance in bound souls (paśu).
The verse points to the inner yogic dynamic behind practice: in Pāśupata-oriented discipline, the awakening of smṛti (steady recollection of Pati) is a sign of Śakti’s activation, supporting japa, dhyāna, and Linga-pūjā with focused remembrance.
