Adhyaya 70: आदिसर्गः—महत्-अहङ्कार-तन्मात्रा-भूतसृष्टिः, ब्रह्माण्डावरणम्, प्रजासर्गः, त्रिमूर्ति-शैवाधिष्ठानम्

पश्वादयस्ते विख्याता उत्पथग्राहिणो द्विजाः तस्याभिध्यायतो ऽन्यं वै सात्त्विकः समवर्तत

paśvādayaste vikhyātā utpathagrāhiṇo dvijāḥ tasyābhidhyāyato 'nyaṃ vai sāttvikaḥ samavartata

ดูก่อนทวิชะทั้งหลาย! สัตว์ทั้งหลายเริ่มแต่จำพวกปศุเป็นที่รู้จักว่าเป็นผู้ยึดทางอันผิด. ครั้นพระองค์ทรงเพ่งฌานแล้ว จึงบังเกิดสรรพสร้างอีกอย่างหนึ่งอันเป็นสาตตฺวิกะ—บริสุทธิ์และสอดคล้องกับระเบียบธรรม—นำปศุ (ดวงจิตที่ถูกผูกพัน) ไปสู่ปติ (พระศิวะ).
