अर्धावशिष्टे तस्मिंस्तु द्वापरे सम्प्रवर्तिते मानवस्य नरिष्यन्तः पुत्र आसीद् दमः किल

ardhāvaśiṣṭe tasmiṃstu dvāpare sampravartite mānavasya nariṣyantaḥ putra āsīd damaḥ kila

เมื่อทวาปรยุคเริ่มขึ้นและยังเหลืออยู่เพียงครึ่งหนึ่ง บุตรของพระมนูคือ นริษยันตะ มีโอรสชื่อ ‘ทมะ’ ดังเล่าขาน ราชวงศ์จึงดำเนินตามธรรม โดยมีปติ (พระศิวะ) ผู้กำกับกงล้อกาล คุ้มครองชี้นำอย่างเร้นลับ
