Suta Goswami (narrating Shiva-puja procedure to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It prescribes a concrete sequence in Linga-puja—invoking Shiva as Īśāna through mantra and then honoring Him with pādya, ācamanīya, and arghya—showing that devotion is expressed through both sacred sound (mantra) and disciplined ritual offering.
By calling Him Īśāna and Vibhu, the verse presents Shiva as Pati—the sovereign, all-pervading Lord and the very source of vidyā (true knowledge) that removes pasha (bondage) from the pashu (individual soul).
A mantra-centered puja practice is highlighted: worship begins with a specific Shaiva mantra and proceeds with classical upacāras (pādya, ācamanīya, arghya), supporting inner purification and one-pointed devotion aligned with Shaiva discipline.
