FAQs

It does not directly define Ātman; it teaches dharma through varṇāśrama—showing that spiritual pursuit is sustained by right social duty, especially the gṛhastha who enables study, ritual, and renunciation.

No specific yoga technique is named; the verse supports the Kurma Purana’s broader path by affirming that householders, through disciplined dharma (dāna, yajña, hospitality, and support of sādhus), create the practical foundation for tapas and higher yogic pursuits.

It does not mention Śiva or Viṣṇu explicitly; its synthesis is indirect—by prioritizing dharma that sustains all spiritual disciplines, it aligns with the Purāṇa’s inclusive framework where devotion and practice (whether Śaiva/Pāśupata or Vaiṣṇava) are socially and ritually supported by the gṛhastha.
