FAQs

This verse states that when the śrāddha-kāla arrives, the Pitṛs become joyful and assemble swiftly, implying that the ritual time is spiritually “reachable” for ancestors and therefore especially efficacious.

It portrays the Pitṛs as consciously responding to the announcement/arrival of śrāddha time and gathering together, indicating an active, reciprocal link where ancestral beings attend the rite and receive the intended offerings and remembrance.

Perform śrāddha (and related acts like remembrance, charity, and offerings) sincerely and on the proper occasion, with focused mind and respect, treating it as a real act of connection and duty (dharma) toward one’s lineage.
