เมื่อมีผู้กล่าวว่า “ให้เปล่งคำว่า โอม” ให้กล่าวว่า “โอม ขอให้กล่าว ‘สวธา’ แด่ปิตามหะและปิตฤทั้งหลาย” เมื่อมีผู้กล่าวว่า “ตถาสตุ—สวธา” ให้ตอบว่า “ขอให้กล่าว ‘สวธา’ แด่ปิตฤและพราหมณ์ผู้เกี่ยวข้องกับพิธีปิตฤ” เมื่อกล่าวซ้ำว่า “ตถาสตุ—สวธา” ให้สวด “โอม อูรชัม วะหันตีห์” แล้วปล่อยสายน้ำหันหน้าไปทิศใต้ กล่าวว่า “ขอให้วิศเวเทวะทั้งหลายพอพระทัยในยัญนี้” แล้วมอบน้ำผสมข้าวบาร์เลย์ (ยโวทก) ลงในมือพราหมณ์ฝ่ายเทวะ จากนั้นสวด “โอม เทวตาภยะห์” สามครั้ง
