This verse presents remembrance of Nīlakaṇṭha (Śiva, famed for bearing poison) as a protective devotional act aligned with removing venom and restoring safety to the afflicted.
It describes extracting the poison through “vāyu” (wind/breath) and then applying a remedy to the bitten person’s body, supported by divine remembrance as part of the procedure.
Treat it as a devotional and cultural teaching: seek immediate medical care for bites/poisoning, while using prayer/recitation as supportive spiritual practice rather than a substitute for treatment.
