FAQs

This verse uses vivid bodily suffering (teeth aching, inability to chew) to communicate that harmful actions produce tangible consequences after death, reinforcing dharma through memorable imagery.

By depicting specific torments, it implies a post-death moral accounting where the embodied experience in Yama’s domain mirrors one’s past deeds, shaping the soul’s journey through suffering and correction.

Cultivate disciplined, non-harmful conduct and restraint; the text’s warning encourages ethical living and sincere atonement to avoid future suffering described in the afterlife narratives.
