พึงพยายามทำให้ศัตรูอ่อนลงด้วยการให้ทานเป็นข้าวธัญญาหารและสิ่งอื่น หรือด้วยการเข้าหาด้วยความเอ็นดูและวิธีทำนองนั้น และหากในระหว่างการช่วยเหลือเช่นนี้พราหมณ์ผู้หนึ่งถึงแก่ความตาย ก็ไม่เป็นบาป
