य एष षोडशकल: पुरुषो भगवान्मनोमयोऽन्नमयोऽमृतमयो देवपितृमनुष्यभूतपशुपक्षिसरीसृपवीरुधां प्राणाप्यायनशीलत्वात्सर्वमय इति वर्णयन्ति ॥ १० ॥
ya eṣa ṣoḍaśa-kalaḥ puruṣo bhagavān manomayo ’nnamayo ’mṛtamayo deva-pitṛ-manuṣya-bhūta-paśu-pakṣi-sarīsṛpa-vīrudhāṁ prāṇāpy āyana-śīlatvāt sarvamaya iti varṇayanti.
ดวงจันทร์ผู้มีสิบหกกะลาเป็นสัญลักษณ์แห่งอิทธิพลของภควาน พระบุคคลสูงสุด เป็นเทพผู้ครองจิตใจจึงเรียกว่า ‘มโนมยะ’; ให้พลังแก่พืชและสมุนไพรจึงเรียกว่า ‘อันนมยะ’; และเป็นแหล่งชีวิตของสรรพสัตว์จึงเรียกว่า ‘อมฤตมยะ’ ดวงจันทร์ยังทำให้เทวะ ปิตฤ มนุษย์ สัตว์ นก สัตว์เลื้อยคลาน ต้นไม้และพืชทั้งหลายพอใจ เพราะแผ่ซ่านไปทั่วจึงเรียกว่า ‘สรรวมยะ’
