คัมภีร์นี้ยังเล่าบทสนทนาของวิทุระกับอุทธวะ และต่อมากับไมเตรยะ มีคำถามเกี่ยวกับสาระของปุราณะนี้ และการที่เมื่อถึงปรลัย การสร้างทั้งปวงถูกรวบคืนและยุติลงภายในพระวรกายของมหาปุรุษคือพระผู้เป็นเจ้า
