Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rājasūya Resolve and the Slaying of Jarāsandha
na kaścin mat-paraṁ loke tejasā yaśasā śriyā vibhūtibhir vābhibhaved devo ’pi kim u pārthivaḥ
Here Lord Kṛṣṇa assures King Yudhiṣṭhira that he will have no problem conquering the worldly kings, since the King is a pure devotee and the Lord’s pure devotees can never be conquered, even by the demigods, what to speak of earthly kings. Although materialists are proud of their power, fame, beauty and opulence, they can never surpass the pure devotees of the Lord in any of these categories.
Kṛṣṇa declares that anyone devoted to Him cannot be overcome by worldly power, fame, prosperity, or other opulences—if even the devas cannot surpass such a devotee, ordinary kings certainly cannot.
To emphasize the spiritual superiority of bhakti: devotion to Kṛṣṇa places one under His shelter, beyond the reach of merely material advantages—even those possessed by celestial beings.
Prioritize steady devotion over status and achievement, and face competition, fear, or insecurity with the conviction that spiritual shelter in Kṛṣṇa is greater than external power or recognition.
