Balarāma Humbles the Kurus and Rescues Sāmba
श्रीशुक उवाच एवं प्रपन्नै: संविग्नैर्वेपमानायनैर्बल: । प्रसादित: सुप्रसन्नो मा भैष्टेत्यभयं ददौ ॥ ४९ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca evaṁ prapannaiḥ saṁvignair vepamānāyanair balaḥ prasāditaḥ su-prasanno mā bhaiṣṭety abhayaṁ dadau
ศรีศุกเทวะกล่าวว่า เมื่อเหล่ากุรุผู้หวาดหวั่น เมืองสั่นสะเทือน และเข้ามอบตนเป็นที่พึ่ง ได้ทูลวิงวอนเช่นนั้น พระบาลรามทรงสงบและเมตตาปรานีอย่างยิ่ง ตรัสว่า “อย่ากลัวเลย” แล้วประทานความไร้ภัยแก่พวกเขา

This verse shows that when the frightened parties surrendered and pleaded, Balarāma became pleased and specifically granted them abhayam—fearlessness—assuring them, “Do not be afraid.”
Because they approached him in a state of surrender and trembling anxiety; being pacified by their submission, Balarāma compassionately reassured them and removed their fear.
