Brahmā’s Prayers to Lord Kṛṣṇa (Brahmā-stuti) and the Restoration of Vraja’s Lunch Pastime

In his commentary, Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura explains that Brahmā wanted to present the following argument to the Lord: “My dear Lord, because I have acted so badly I certainly deserve to be punished. On the other hand, because I am so ignorant You should consider me an innocent fool and be merciful to me. Thus, although I deserve both punishment and forgiveness, I humbly beg You to exercise tolerance in this matter and simply forgive me and show me Your mercy.”
This verse shows Brahmā admitting that pride in one’s status can blind true vision of God; humility and seeking forgiveness from Kṛṣṇa (Acyuta) invites divine compassion.
After being corrected by Kṛṣṇa’s līlā, Brahmā realized he had mistakenly thought himself an independent controller; he repents and surrenders, acknowledging Kṛṣṇa as his true Master.
Treat achievements and roles as gifts, not grounds for ego; regularly practice accountability, prayerful repentance, and remembrance that the Supreme Lord is the real controller.
