स्वमात्मानं निरीक्ष्याथ निस्तेजोङ्गं महेश्वरः तपोर्थाय तथा चक्रे मतिं मतिमतां वरः

అప్పుడు మహేశ్వరుడు తన స్వరూపాన్ని పరిశీలించి—తేజస్సు లేని దేహాన్ని చూచి—తపస్సు చేయుటకు సంకల్పించాడు; బుద్ధిమంతులలో శ్రేష్ఠుడై తపస్సులో మనస్సు నిలిపాడు।
