Liṅga-pratiṣṭhāvidhiḥ — Installation Standards and Auspicious Parameters for Liṅga Worship
तत्तत्सुखानुरागेण शिवपूजां विदुर्बुधाः । पीठमंबामयं सर्वं शिवलिंगं च चिन्मयम्
tattatsukhānurāgeṇa śivapūjāṃ vidurbudhāḥ | pīṭhamaṃbāmayaṃ sarvaṃ śivaliṃgaṃ ca cinmayam
ఆ పరమ సుఖంపై ప్రేమభక్తితోనే పండితులు శివపూజను తెలుసుకుంటారు. వారు సమస్త పీఠాన్ని అంబామయం (దేవీ వ్యాప్తం)గా, శివలింగాన్ని చిన్మయం (శుద్ధ చైతన్య స్వరూపం)గా గ్రహిస్తారు.

The Linga is approached as a sacred form for worship (saguna upasana), yet its inner truth is nirguna—Shiva as cinmaya (pure awareness). The pīṭha is contemplated as Ambā/Śakti, indicating inseparability of Shiva and Shakti in worship.
While performing Linga-puja, cultivate bhava (loving devotion) and meditate: the Linga is Consciousness itself and the pedestal is Śakti; mentally offer the worship with the Panchakshara mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” as an inner practice.
