शिवमभ्यर्च्य सद्भक्त्या विरंचिश्शैवसत्तमः । अभूत्सर्गकरः कृष्ण सर्वलोकपितामहः
śivamabhyarcya sadbhaktyā viraṃciśśaivasattamaḥ | abhūtsargakaraḥ kṛṣṇa sarvalokapitāmahaḥ
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Sthala Purana: Not a jyotirliṅga legend; it asserts a theological hierarchy: Brahmā (Virañci) becomes sargakara only after worshipping Śiva—Śiva as the ultimate Pati whose grace authorizes secondary creators.
Significance: Reorients creation theology toward Śiva as the source of empowerment; supports Śaiva praxis where worship precedes worldly and cosmic competence.
Type: stotra
Role: creative
Offering: pushpa
Cosmic Event: kalpa-sṛṣṭi (implied: cosmic creation cycle)
It teaches that even Brahmā attains his creative authority only after worshipping Śiva with sincere bhakti—affirming Śiva (Pati) as the supreme source who empowers all cosmic functions.
The verse highlights Śiva-worship as the gateway to divine empowerment; in Purāṇic practice this is commonly expressed through Saguna worship such as Śiva-liṅga abhiṣeka and arcana performed with devotion.
Perform Śiva-arcana with steadfast devotion—daily japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple liṅga-pūjā/abhiṣeka—placing inner bhakti above mere ritual formality.
