FAQs

This is the chapter-colophon marking the completion of a section praising the Śiva Purāṇa’s māhātmya; in Shaiva understanding, such closure reinforces the fruit of śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation) as aids to devotion and liberation under Pati (Śiva).

By framing the discourse as “Purāṇa-māhātmya,” it supports Saguna Śiva-upāsanā through scripture-centered devotion—encouraging faithful engagement with Śiva’s narratives, names, and teachings that culminate in Linga-centered worship and grace.

The implied practice is regular recitation/listening to the Śiva Purāṇa with reverence; devotees commonly pair this with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple daily Śiva-pūjā as an integrated sādhana.
