ऋषभचरित्रवर्णनम् (Ṛṣabha-caritra-varṇanam) — “Account of Ṛṣabha’s Sacred Narrative”
ततः स कवचं दिव्यं शंखं खङ्गं च भास्वरम् । ददौ तस्मै प्रसन्नात्मा सर्वशत्रुविनाशनम्
tataḥ sa kavacaṃ divyaṃ śaṃkhaṃ khaṅgaṃ ca bhāsvaram | dadau tasmai prasannātmā sarvaśatruvināśanam

The verse highlights Shiva’s anugraha (grace) expressed as protection and empowerment: the devotee is equipped to overcome both outer opposition and inner enemies like fear, anger, and ignorance that bind the soul (paśu) through pāśa.
As Saguna Shiva, the Lord compassionately intervenes in the devotee’s life, granting safeguards and means for victory. Linga-worship similarly seeks Shiva’s protective presence and purifying power so the aspirant can advance from worldly struggle toward liberation.
Meditate on Shiva as the inner protector while japa of the Panchakshara (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) is performed; treat the ‘sword’ as viveka (discriminative insight) that cuts bondage, supported by regular worship with bhasma (Tripuṇḍra) and devotion.
