Lord Shiva (inferred, Shatarudrasaṃhitā narrative voice praising truth and dharma)

Tattva Level: pati

Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti

Sthala Purana: No Jyotirliṅga linkage; this is a doctrinal-ethical utterance foregrounding satya as an inviolable inner power that should not ‘perish’ in the speaker.

Significance: Teaches satya-niṣṭhā as a spiritual safeguard; in Śaiva Siddhānta, such integrity supports eligibility for Śiva’s grace (anugraha) and removal of pāśa.

Type: stotra

Role: teaching

FAQs

The verse upholds satya (truth) and svadharma as safeguards of spiritual integrity; in Shaiva Siddhanta, truthfulness aligns the soul (paśu) toward Shiva (Pati) and prevents inner decline even amid social abandonment.

Linga-worship emphasizes steadfastness in vow and purity of intention; this verse frames devotion to Shiva as inseparable from satya—approaching Saguna Shiva through truthful conduct makes worship fruitful and protects one’s spiritual resolve.

A practical takeaway is satya-vrata (a vow of truth) alongside daily Shiva upasana—japa of the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with sincere self-examination, and offering water/bilva with a truthful intention.
